So while we still have a month + a few days to go until our actual anniversary, the last week of October will always hold a special place in my heart. Swept off my feet and surprised in a way that I will never, ever forget. We celebrated our engagement anniversary last year with the most amazing fall tasting menu @ Telepan on W 69th. We talked about that meal all year to any friends that would listen! ("and the acorn squash, red snapper with beets and lobster puree and cauliflower soup, ah, you just have to go!") And as we walked into Telepan last night, I immediately thought: I love this tradition. Maybe for our actual anniversary we will stay in and cook and watch our wedding video and just be. But our engagementversary will always be this. A night out. Fall food. Pumpkin ice cream sunday. Lee reflecting on how nervous he was when he picked up my ring. And me gushing about how life ever since that moment has only gotten better and better:)
2 years ago (on Oct 30th), Lee snuck me up the UWS for a walk through Central Park before dinner(*I had been begging for weeks to get him up there with me as I spent so many weekends running 5Ks in the gorgeous fall foliage.) It was a Friday night, and the weather had officially turned to brisk/cold anything but indian summer October. Walking along the path from the Columbus Circle entrance to the park to Sheeps Meadow will be one of the most memorable strolls of my life. I remember those classic CP bridges we crossed as we would stop and take in the moment. The makings of a perfect fall date....(little did I know;) So while we still have a month + a few days to go until our actual anniversary, the last week of October will always hold a special place in my heart. They have a special comments section upon making your reservation and I thought, oh what the heck, "This meal will celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our engagement, we love Telepan!" And voila. "Happy Anniversary" en chocolate on our plates. It's the little things :)
