The weeks are flying by at light speed these days. 18, 19...now onto the 20 week (halfway!) mark seem to have zipped by with travels and apartment organizing, etc. To know that we are amost over the hump, to know that nursery furniture will need to be ordered soon, to know that when the fall season hits so very soon, the holidays are just around the corner as will be the arrival of this bubba :)
I can't stop thinking about it. In just 5 days we find out if this little one is a boy or a girl! Dare I say this anticipation is better than all the days of Christmas season combined? It's been almost 2mo since we've seen him/her in an ultrasound and the excitement over seeing their little limbs kicking and how their heart has grown just freezes me in a state of absolute wonder. We stare longingly some nights at those string of ultrasound pics from the 12 week scan. He/She already looks like Lee :) The angles of the face and chin, I just can tell! A few days ago while cabbing it to TriBeCa, we sped past St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital where I will deliver. A wave of happy chills goosed my skin and I can't believe that some day in early December we will be racing over there, me in the throws of labor, about to deliver our baby. Those series of steps, the grand entrance, the bright yet sterile feel of the lobby...it is hard to wrap my head around what it will become to us that day. A memory that will be a woven so intensely into our collective marriage memory.

Rehashing the Ireland trip calls for a major sit down requiring coffee (which I gave up) and full focus (which despite my best efforts these days only come in chunks of 20min or so.) For now, a few of my favorite things in 2A... The bedroom is getting geared up for a reveal before any other room in the new apartment...this little mirrored tray being my favorite girly addition: *Diptyque in Figuier *mint julep cup *raw cotton sprigs *PB mirrored jewelry tray *assorted favorite fragrances (Grace, Flowerbomb, Nuits de Noho) *Zenni Optical frames *Bloomingdales small jewelry heart dish *Michelle watch My new lifesaver in the kitchen! I was always getting the screen of my iPhone all mucked up during the dinner process. Voila! Belkin iPad stand to the recue. Fingerprint and splatter free! Pintrest has gained major points this week! I love when a recipe turns out not only tasting but looking like the photo from the website and THIS meal came through big time. Yummy, light (used half the cream) and simply delicious.
*what is this 2nd trimester regression? Feeling like a ton of exhaustion bricks hit me the past few days + headache after sleeping 8+hours/night.
*there is only one answer and that is more yoga needed + more H2O. *2-3 boxes left to be unpacked + 1 repaint job needed to be done til phase 1 of move-in is over. *phase 2 = finally print off some wedding photos to frame and decorate this abode! *gorgeous nightly stroll along the ramble in CP ended with a run in with 5 raccoons. so gross. i want to forget that ever happened. i had visions of baby + me + lunch on the grass + raccoon creeping up! eek. *pinterest has come through big time with some recipes that were a hit in our household. *countdown til boy or girl baby markle gender reveal is ON...10 days! (it's SO a girl. i will be shocked if not;) *snuggle sesh with little baby Orri yesterday resulted in a leaky diaper & getting peed on ;) just marking his territory for if (when) baby M is a girl! haha *off to LBI with two other couples for a weekend of poolside reading, lobster and rocking the one-piece suits like it's my job. *happy friday friends! I get it. I'm one of the offenders that wears leggings as pants. My only argument is that I go for the tunic on top or bootie covering shirt, pinkie swear. That being said, now that I'm officially into the maternity gear and stretchy leggings are my friend...I thought I'd do a little poll here and find out from all you gals what your favorite brands of leggings are. In a perfect world mine would be thicker than 1-layer cotton, 3% spandex and hit exactly at the ankle. You? Share please!! Will post results and we can all be happier in the fall with the perfect black legging :) I've included my 2 favorites as choices but am hoping your other suggestions win out! |
