(please disregard the tampon in my pocket, oops.)
So ladies...in my first question ever posed on this blog: What's your secret hair trick for perfectly curled or straight locks that stay put for hours?
The age old hair debate: the straight want curly and the curly want straight. My hair falls into the category of poker straight with a bit of highlighted frizz. I tame this with the likes of moroccan hair oil, fekkai hair serum, etc. With very little maintenence, my hair is washed and blow-dried and sleeked in only 15min. It's a super minimal portion of my day. But some evenings call for some voluminous locks ( or some "juuge"---you know how as a woman we tossle our hair and kindof swing it around to add air to puff? haha). After work, I decided to treat myself to a super cheap ($15) Turkish blowout in Brooklyn, as a mini high school reunion is a good excuse for some mane pampering. And just 45min later I went from pony-tailed work Sarah to.... THIS (!!) I felt like Carrie Underwood. My eyes say it all. Shock. How the....what the....best dollar bills spent all week. I tricked (well the stylist actually) my hair! It's staying put. He didn't curl it, he took the tinyist of round brushes and twisted as he blew it dry. The entire time it was getting done I was thinking he was a genius. And then....then I drove home. And in 30 min time I went from THAT (single pointer finger to above photo)....to.... THIS. (please disregard the tampon in my pocket, oops.) Devastation station. (Cue the tiny violins.) From Kim Kardashian to did-i-just-roll-out-of-bed-surfer in less than an hour. It's fine.

I know it sounds grody but did you try curling it dirty? Meaning- do you hair the night before- wear it all day and then curl it the night of the event?
